Beijing, China (January 4, 2007) – Proposed by TeraMage Technologies, offered by one of its partnering system integrators, GE-VisioWave digital video platform, in a tender, has been chosen as the core system of Beijing Capital International Airport Baggage (BCIA) Handling System (BHS) CCTV in Terminal 2.
BCIA, with its current annual passenger throughput reached above 45 million became one of the most important airport hubs in the world. BHS is now a critical measurement of evaluating the management and service performance. The deployment of an advanced digital video surveillance therefore would be an imperative to fully support the operation.
The design proposal of the winning bid encompasses of GE-VisioWave IP video Discovery 2400/Evolution HD core platform upon which about 300 video cameras, 100 alarm I/O's and distributed local storage in replacement of conventional DVR will be built. Discovery 2400, recently rolled into the market, offers unique capabilities with its embedded storage. The system is also required to take care of the interoperation between the IP network and on-site analog video matrix to protect the initial investment. Panasonic is the winning provider of all video cameras.
In addition to those traditional IR detectors, TeraMage Technologies’ intelligent video analytics units EagleMage 1000 will be playing a vital role to safeguard the system including intrusion detection, unattended objects etc. With references in many airports and commercial buildings in south-east Asia, MEGAsys integration management system will integrate with all security components thus to provide BHS with a comprehensive integration solution.
